The account uploaded a video wherein the producer was seen announcing the news to cast, telling them “we want you to come back.” , finally putting all the rumours to rest. The post was captioned, “it’s a gr8 day to be a nine-niner!”. Everybody was seen rejoicing. Cute, right!? Later the whole cast announced the news on their personal Instagram accounts.

When is the release date?

The date hasn’t been confirmed yet but NBC has confirmed on social media that the season is set to release in 2021. So fasten your seatbelts, we might be getting a release date any day now.

What can we expect from the plot of this season?

We all know about the recent civil rights movement in America, The Black Lives Matter movement. To shed light on the issue, season 8 has been structured around the movement. It was intentionally done after the whole movement started and the initial script was scrapped. The series will also incorporate the whole pandemic scene into this season. Also, due to the BLM Movement, the image of the police department hasn’t been that great. People have associated violence with the department. The season will also acknowledge the pandemic and will represent the cast as frontline workers. Therefore, it is a real challenge for the cast and crew to portray all of this darkness in a show that is known for it’s comedy.
