It’s an experimental dark fable immersed in realism and surrealism. And it’s this aspect that makes it such a unique film.
This would not feel as much effective if not for the incredible acting by the cast especially Tripti Dimri as Bulbbul. The transformation in her performance from a naive and innocent girl to a matured and mysterious woman was a treat. Her eyes speak volumes, there is a sadness and depth in her eyes which you feel once you know her pain and suffering and how this was ‘normal’.
It is a gripping dark tale of 18th century India, when people believed in ‘chudails’ – a female ghost in the Indian folklore who invariably has her feet turned backward, and that’s the basic plot of the film.
5. Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai (2020)

Sarita Pillai and Sushant Pillai are a married couple and are trying to make ends meet when one night Sarita discovers wads of cash emerging from a choked drain under her kitchen sink. Since she works in a bank, she slowly starts replacing the mysterious bills with those legitimate cash from the bank. Little does she know that democratization is on the horizon and her scheme is soon going to fall apart.
An amusing take on the nightmarish conditions we, as a nation, went through during the 2016 demonetization phase. Nihit Bhave elegantly weaves a complete thriller around this theme which had its own set of problems.

The plot revolves around one family, their secrets and their inter personal history. As the secrets start tumbling out, the story gets darker.
Investigating officer Jatil Yadav ( Nawazuddin Siddiqui ) has done an awesome job like always and Radhika Apte as the zameendaar’s to be bride, is quite the eye candy.
The writer Smita Singh has weaved the story so gripping where each and every family member has an important role to play.

The anthology has a fine cast and brings together actors who fits the role very well.
Through every story, the film breaks the suffocating silence that’s prevailing in India, regarding sex and the stigmas associated with it are dealt so neatly. To put it simply, this movie gives us honest perspectives of four woman; their liberation, thoughts, decisions and everything else packaged perfectly.

The plot revolves around three girls Minal (Taapsee Pannu), Falak (Kriti Kulhari), Andrea (Andrea Tariang) and a group of influential boys, as they get stuck in a web of disconcerting troubles which leads the boys to file a complaint against the girls for ‘prostitution’ and an ‘attempt to murder’.
What made Pink a juggernaut of a film is the amalgamation of every significant aspect. That will help the director to deliver a perfect product. A cleverly written well-constructed storyline, remarkable performances and a powerful message that leaves us with a remorseful feeling. It is, in fact, a powerful, thought-provoking film which explores the condition and the state of Indian women and how incorrectly they are mistreated in public.
