10 Celebrities Come Forward to Help Those Affected Amid Lockdown
People from all walks of life are coming forward to help the people affected amid this lockdown. The number of COVID-19 cases is rising at an alarming rate in the country and in this hour of need, here are some celebrities who are trying to do their bit in helping others.
1. Shah Rukh Khan:
The Bollywood superstar announced that KKR and his NGO Meer Foundation will donate 50,000 PPE kits to West Bengal and Maharashtra governments. Along with it, he announces that his IPL franchise will contribute an amount to the PM Care fund.

2. Salman Khan:
A food truck ‘Being Haangryy’ has been launched by Salman Khan to feed the underprivileged during this pandemic lockdown phase. Also, he has given financial aid to 25,000 workers of the film industry and sponsored ration for the families of daily wage workers.
3. Aamir Khan:
Though Aamir Khan denies donating INR15,000 in ration bags, he participated in ForIndia digital concert with the other Bollywood stars that successfully raised over Rs 3 crore. It will go to the India COVID Response Fund managed by GiveIndia.

4. Sonu Sood:
The actor has successfully sent thousands of migrant workers back to their home with his ‘Ghar Bhejo’ mission. The team is working about twenty hours a day arranging buses and railway tickets to help the migrant workers’ safety return to their destination.

With contributions of 25 crores to PM CARES fund, 3 crore to the BMC and 2 crores to the Mumbai Police, Akshay Kumar is helping those affected amid lockdown.

Sprinter Dutee Chand is distributing free ration in her village, Chaka Gopalpur in Odisha’s Jajpur district that includes necessary items like groceries and sanitary pads.

Badminton player PV Sindhu has contributed INR50,000 each to the Chief Minister’ relief fund for the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
8. Baahubali Actor Prabhas:
After returning recently from Georgia for a shoot, the Baahubali actor has contributed Rs 4 crore for the fight against Covid-19.
9. Chef Vikas Khanna:
The celebrity chef is extending helping hand to India all the way from New York. He has donated approximately 8 million dry ration meals to old age homes and orphanages across the country.

10. Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan:
The Pathan brothers have contributed around 4,000 masks, 5,000 kg rice, 700 kg of potatoes and 10,000 kg of grains to a neighbourhood in Vadodara, Gujarat.
