KBC 12: 7 Cr question which Nazia Nasim couldn’t answer
The November 11 episode of KBC 12 was highly anticipated. Since Sony TV shared the promo of Nazia Nasim becoming this season’s first crorepati in this particular episode, everyone had been waiting to see if the contestant from Delhi would make history by winning the Rs 7 crore jackpot question.
The KBC 12 episode began with Nazia resuming her seat on the hot seat opposite host Amitabh Bachchan. A communications manager with Royal Enfield, Nazia, in the previous episode had won Rs 40,000. She did not even use any lifeline till she reached the 11th question. She used her first lifeline after winning Rs 25 lakh. But by the time she reached the question for the coveted prize money of Rs 1 crore, Nazia was left with only one lifeline.
The question asked to her was:
Who is the first woman and also former astronaut to reach the deepest point of the oceans, Mariana Trench?
The options were: Sally Ride, Valentina Tereshkova, Svetlana Savitskaya or Kathryn D Sullivan
The correct answer is: Kathryn D Sullivan
Nazia, however, opted to use her last lifeline and flip the question as she was not sure about the answer. The question she was then asked was:
Which of these actresses once won a National Film Award for Best Female Playblack singer?
The options were: Deepika Chikhlia, Roopa Ganguly, Neena Gupta or Kirron Kher
The correct answer is: Roopa Ganguly
Nazia Nasim answered this correctly and won Rs 1 crore. It was the last question, which was worth Rs 7 crore, that stunned Nazia and she decided to quit the show. The question was:
Where in Singapore did Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose make the first proclamation of a Azad Hind government?
The options were: Cathay Cinema Hall, Fort Canning Park, National University of Singapore or National Gallery Singapore
The correct answer is: Cathay Cinema Hall
Nazia Nasim was immensely praised by host Amitabh Bachchan during the episode. He lauded her for playing a brilliant game. He also gave her a standing ovation when she became the first crorepati of KBC 12. Nazia not only went home with the prize money, but also a chocolate hamper, a Diwali gift and a scholarship for her 9-year-old son.
