5 Most Overrated Shows On Netflix
Netflix is our fixer-upper in days of lockdown when we have nothing to do or anywhere to go. Netflix here has been a strange animal in the video streaming space. They have invested heavily in creating a bunch of shows for the Indian urban audience. Many of these – increasingly most – find an audience.
Netflix is very popular with the young, smartphone-heavy subscriber, and competes well against the likes of Amazon Prime (which has had a bad time of it in India). However, there are some Netflix shows which are heavily overrated and if we are paying a premium, the content has to be good and can’t be this mediocre.
1) Stranger Things
Of those I’ve seen, Stranger Things is easily the most over-rated. I don’t mean it’s the worst as there many worse by far, but the amount of nonsensical hype around it is ridiculous. It’s a by-the-numbers recreation of an 80s-style teen woohoo adventure that brings nothing new to the table. I gave up on it after 7 episodes.
2) Brooklyn Nine-Nine
There was a huge hue and cry from people online when this show got canceled. But, the fans managed to bring it back from the dead. To be honest, this show is simply too vague and shows the police in a way too good light than they actually are. All the theories about social control go out of the window when a show actually whitewashes cops.

3)13 Reasons Why
One of the most controversial shows I have come across. Crude and unbelievable. You never feel any difference after watching it season 1 & 2. An extremely brutal, horrible, and ridiculous story. It has been a correlation of stories that are unrealistic and uncommon so much so that nobody will connect with it. People have suicidal thoughts all the time, and everyone should matter. It sure is one of the overrated shows from Netflix original.
4) Fuller House
The show had ended on a high note back in the 90s. There was no need to reprise and ruin the Full House memories for us 90s kids. But the makers went ahead and made a cringe-worthy reprise called Fuller House. DJ, Kimmy, Stephanie, Uncle Jesse, Joey, and Danny all return for what we can say is only for staying relevant and in public memory. The story and screenplay have been abysmal, and yet the show kept on getting renewed for the season after season. We are happy it is finally ending.
5) Suits
The first couple of seasons were good and even great at times. But, let’s face it. This was always gonna be one for the masses. Nothing really of substance. No match for Boston Legal. And after 6 seasons, it really needed to end. It was stretched beyond its running time and the results were that
