Diwali Muhurat Trading 2021: Date, Timings, Significance and All You Need To Know About
Diwali Muhurat Trading 2021: Muhurat trading is practised to commemorate the start of the new Samvat 2078.
Following a half-century-old tradition, the stock market will be closed for trade all day on November 4, with the exception of an auspicious hour on Diwali. Between 6:15 PM and 7:15 PM, a one-hour special Muhurat Trading session for Equities, Equity F&O, Currency F&O, and Commodities for Diwali 2021 will be held. The block deal session will take place between 5:45 PM and 6:08 PM before the one-hour session begins, followed by the pre-open session between 6 PM and 6:08 PM.
Following the Hindu Panchang, the special trading window opens, signalling the start of a new Samvat or Samvat 2078 — the Hindu calendar year that begins on Diwali — and it is thought that Muhurat trade brings prosperity and fortune throughout the year.

What is Muhurat Trading ?
On Diwali, muhurat trading is an hour of auspicious stock market trading (Deepawali). It is a symbolic and ancient ritual that has been preserved and observed by the commercial community for centuries. The practise began on the BSE in 1957 and on the NSE in 1992.
The Muhurat trading session was place on November 14 last year. The BSE Sensex ended the Muhurat trading day at 43,638, while the NSE finished at 12,771.
Meanwhile, starting tomorrow, the BSE and NSE will be closed for two days. On these days, according to the BSE’s stock market holiday calendar, there will be no trading in the Equity, Derivative, and SLB segments.
Since 1957 and 1992, respectively, the BSE and NSE have held special Muhurat trading sessions. On the day of Diwali, stock brokers traditionally created new settlement accounts for their clients.
