Bollywood Celebrities Came Forward to Support Sonam Wangchuk’s Call for Complete Ban of Chinese Products

Sonam Wangchuk is the inspiration behind 3 Idiot’s Movie character Phunsukh Wangdu’s character played by Aamir Khan. In the recent past, he released a YouTube video titled, “China Ko Jawaab Sena Degi Bullet Se, Naagrik Dengey Wallet Se. (Answer to China will be given by soldiers with their bullets and citizens with their wallets.)”

Wangchuk, in his video, urged the citizens too, to respond to China. Sonam Wangchuk said, “Is baar Bharat ki bullet power se zyada wallet power kaam aayegi.” He added that China earns about Rs 5 lakh crores from its business with India annually that is in return used to kill our very own soldiers at the borders of India. Sonam Wangchuk suggested that Indians should not depend on cheap Chinese products and look for domestic alternatives.

He added, “We should uninstall all their apps that make their (Chinese) companies rich. That money goes to make bombs and bullets to point at our borders. So first uninstall their apps. Then we should vote out hardware like electronics, clothes, and machines slowly over a year. This signal, first from India and then the rest of the world will hurt China which will affect their economy.”

As per a survey conducted in June 2019, there are more than 120 million Tiktok users in India.

Supermodel and actor Milind Soman, who is still famous amongst all age groups and enjoys a huge social media following, took to Twitter to announce that he is no longer a TikTok user. Inspired by Wangchuk, Milind Soman tweeted, “I am no longer on TikTok #BoycottChineseProducts.”Along with he even shared a short snap from Wangchuk’s original video.

In the meanwhile, Soman’s followers and fans are praising the celeb’s decision to quit the Chinese video making app.

In response to Milind Soman’s support, Sonam too tweeted to thank Milind and wrote: “Hope other celebrities play their part too! Jo bhara nahin hai bhavon se behti jis me rasdhaar nahi, woh hriday nahin hai patthar hai jis mein swadesh ka Pyaar nahin. Baaki aap samajhdaar hain! Thank you @milindrunning for #BoycottMadeInChina.”

Amid rising tensions between India and China in Ladakh, several other Bollywood celebrities that include Ranvir Shorey, Arshad Warsi, Monoj Joshi, and more have joined the ongoing ‘Boycott China’ campaign on social media.

Arshad Warsi tweeted, ‘I am consciously going to stop using everything that is Chinese. As they are a part of most of the things we use, it will take time but I know, one day I’ll be Chinese free. You should try it too …’
