Though an uncapped player, this 24 year Karnataka player has been one of the most promising emerging players in the domestic circuit. This right handed Indian fast bowler had showed signs of breaking into the senior team for the last few years. With his raw pace and consistent performances, it seemed that his entry into the Indian cricket was just a matter of time.

For a pacer who consistently hits around 145 Kmph, this was a sure call. But like the curious case of Sanju Samson, this talented player has also been waiting for his turn for around a period of time. The excess talent in the present team or the absence of an X factor, whatever it might be, this has amazingly not worked in the young lad’s case.

But talent and persistence will never go in vain and the entire cricket fraternity in Karnataka, from where he hails has huge hopes on him. If nurtured and guided well enough, this man could very well be the future of Indian cricket.

Probably a name the average Indian cricket fan has started to forget or remembers just around the IPL, Varun Aaron came to the Indian cricket arena like a storm from nowhere and captured the imagination of a country’s fans who could only enviously look at the other countries’ pacers for their speed. The initial success in IPL easily opened the doors of the senior cricket team and he made some impressions in the international circuit too.

But he faded faster than he arrived and in the years to come, only the shadow of a Varun Aaron we had seen earlier was left. Apart from the occasional IPL successes, Varun Aaron in recent years has been a flop show, another reminder to the budding cricketers that talent only wont help you build a career. But as his pace is still in tact and the age being on his side, a comeback is obviously possible if he put back his heart and soul back to the game.
