J&K: 2 non-locals shot dead by terrorists in Kulgam, 4 deaths in 2 days

NEW DELHI: Terrorists took indiscriminate fire on non-local labourers in the Wanpoh district of Kulgam, J&K, on Sunday, killing two and injuring another. This is the third attack in two days as two non-local labourers were killed in two separate attacks on Saturday.

The area has been sealed off and a search for the perpetrators has begun.

Arvind Kumar, a golgappa vendor from Bihar, was shot and killed in Srinagar’s Eidgah on Saturday. Sagir Ahmad, a labourer from Uttar Pradesh, was slain in Pulwama.

The incidents follow last week’s barbaric terrorist attack on the Government Boys Higher Secondary School in Eidgah, which resulted in the deaths of the principal and a teacher inside the school grounds. In the first week of October, terrorists shot Makhan Lal Bindroo, a Kashmiri Pandit who was well-known in Srinagar as a pharmacist and owner of a well-known drugstore.

In the recent series of attacks, which have primarily targeted non-locals and minorities, at least 11 people have been slain, sparking a new round of exodus.

On Saturday, a street-food vendor from Bihar and a carpenter from Uttar Pradesh were shot and killed. The first event occurred in Srinagar’s old city, and the second occurred in Pulwama.

Following the attacks, security forces conducted a huge search effort. During the raids, at least four terrorists accused of attacking civilians, including a prominent Lashkar commander, were killed.

Manoj Sinha, the lieutenant governor of J&K, has stated that those responsible for the attacks will be prosecuted.
