1. Ziro Valley – Arunachal Pradesh

It’s a small town in the northeast Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh where the Ziro Festival of Music takes place every September. It is undoubtedly one of India’s places that merits more attention!

What is the best way to reach ? From Bomdila or Tezpur, take a bus or a shared taxi (also worth checking out). You can also take a cab from either place and go straight to Ziro.

Sure, Palawan has grown in popularity in recent years, resulting in some overcrowded beaches. However, with over 7,000 islands, there is always something new to explore in the Philippines. The islands of Cebu, Bohol, and Luzon, among many others, are underappreciated tourism destinations in my opinion.

The Philippines’ lack of conformity to the traditional image of Asia is probably what keeps it from becoming a lot more popular with (Western) vacationers. There are no Buddhist temples or spicy stir-fries here, for example. However, having been colonised by both Spain and the United States, the country has a fascinating mix of cultural influences. You can have a lot more touch with the natives because so many Filipinos speak English.

3. Champhai – Mizoram

Champhai is a picturesque spot in Mizoram that overlooks the blue hill ranges of Myanmar’s border. It is unlike any other section of the country in terms of beauty. There are antique monuments and monoliths that portray the Mizo tribes’ courageous history.

How to reach? Direct flights are available from Kolkata and Guwahati to Mizoram’s Lengpui Airport, which is only a short distance from Aizawl. To go to Champhai, take a shared Sumo or a private cab from the city.

4. Majuli – Assam

Majuli is one of Asia’s largest freshwater river islands, lying on the banks of the Brahmaputra. Because to ongoing soil erosion, the entire island could be submerged in another 15 to 20 years. It is critical that people pay more attention to this location so that suitable efforts may be done to save Majuli. The unrivalled grandeur of the location is best appreciated in the winter.

How to reach?  You must first travel to Neemati Ghat in the Jorhat district, from where you must take a ferry to the island. From Kolkata and Guwahati, there are four flights to Jorhat. Another alternative is to drive directly from Guwahati to Neemati Ghat, which will take about 6 to 7 hours.

5. Colombia

Colombia isn’t exactly a travel secret, but the impression that it’s a dangerous place to visit lingers. It doesn’t have to be that way. The level of safety along Colombia’s tourism trail is equivalent to that of other parts of South America. I imagine its popularity is still primarily with travellers, rather than with families seeking for a stress-free vacation, but Colombia is still a great place to visit if you’re looking for something different to do.

Colombia features both the Atlantic and Pacific beaches, the beginning of the Andes mountain range, and the Amazon jungle, so it’s a great place to visit if you want to see South America in miniature. But it was the people, their enthusiasm for music and soccer, and the warm attitude that I found most appealing about Colombia.

6. Lepchajagat – West Bengal

Lepchaghat in West Bengal is a hidden gem that few people are aware of. The hill station’s romantic vistas of Kanchendzonga, lush green trees, and misty surroundings make it an ideal hideaway for lovers.

How to reach?  By road, Lepchaghat is only 19 kilometres from Darjeeling. Bagdogra is the nearest airport, from which you can take a taxi to the hill town.

7. Mandu – Madhya Pradesh

Mandu is set atop a delightfully green, lightly vegetated plateau and is home to some of India’s finest specimens of Afghan architecture. There are also some magnificent baobab trees, which are native to Africa. UNESCO World Heritage Sites abound in the area, including palaces, tombs, monuments, and mosques.

How to reach? The nearest airport is Indore (99 km away) and the nearest rail head is in Ratlam (124 km away).
