One of the best parts of childhood is watching cartoons. As a matter of fact, the child within adults always enjoys an episode of Tom and Jerry or Oggy and the Cockroaches.
Growing up as 90s kids, we didn’t have a lot on our plate. Except, of course watching everything that was on TV. And there was so much good stuff. Unlike the stupid cartoons, kids these days are forced to endure.
Cartoons are an integral part of the growing up process. Even today, if given a chance (and time of course), we would love to watch them. Fights over remote controls, skipping meals or eating meal in front of our favourite cartoon series is a familiar sight in every household having kids.

1. Recess

The series focussed on 6 elementary school students and their interactions with the other kids and teachers at the schoolyard during recess.
During this time, the students would form their own society, complete with governments and a class structure. The show was and still remains to be way ahead of its time.
2. Johnny Bravo

One of the most famous cartoon of that time. You just can’t forget to watch this show if you are at your home. Johnny Bravo was a self- proclaimed womaniser, and there was nothing better than watching him humiliate himself as he tried time and again to woo anyone on two legs
3. The Powerpuff Girls

The result of a chemical accident of Professor Utonium, the Powerpuff Girls saved Townsville from a host of troubles, mostly caused by the villain Mojo Jojo. At the last we love to hear, ”Aur ek baar fir, bala tali powerpuff girls ki badaulat”, at the end of each episode.
4. Dexter’s Laboratory

This doesn’t even need an explanation. The show was so popular that even kids born after the 90s have watched it at some point.
Dexter was a genius and Dee Dee was a pain in the ass. So even if you are in your 20s and haven’t watched it, start downloading.
5. The Scooby-Doo show

The show needs no introduction. Scooby and gang use their intelligence among other detective instincts to uncover mysteries that appear to be supernatural at first but always have a human behind them.
Scooby-Doo was the first proper cartoon detective show on television. It was interesting spending afternoons solving mysteries.
Each of the characters has their own gimmicks but gell well together and form the best investigative team in animation history

6. Popeye

This cartoon was the main reason why kids finished spinach on their plates. There wasn’t too much super strength happening along the way, but that didn’t stop us believing.
7. Looney Tunes

The show revolves around Bugs Bunny and his roommate Daffy living with their colourful neighbours like Lola Bunny, Tina Russo, Porky Pig, Foghorn Leghorn, Elmer Fudd, Sylvester, Tweety, Granny, Gossamer, Yosemite Sam, Speedy Gonzales, Marvin the Martian, Pete Puma, and more.
The show has become has a worldwide franchise, spawning multiple TV series. films, comic books video games etc. Bugs Bunny even has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
8. Tom & Jerry

The series features a sequence of fights between natural rivals Tom the cat and Jerry the mouse. Tom and Jerry is one of the most popular cartoons of all time and is on everyone’s favorite list. The show is all about the destruction caused by Tom who tried to catch the mouse Jerry.
The plot revolved around Tom’s devious and inventive ways to capture Jerry and the mayhem that follows his failure to do so.
9. Samurai Jack

The animated series followed ‘Jack’, an unnamed Samurai who after defeating the ultimate evil Aku, was sent to the dystopian future ruled by the shape-shifting demons.
The show might have been for kids but it was dark. Each episode made you glued to the edge of your seat as Samurai Jack pursues his goal to go back in time to defeat Aku again to stop this future from ever happening.
