Evergreen Hrithik Roshan Movies!

Can you believe it’s been almost 20 years since Hrithik Roshan made movies and started his acting career? I know, I can’t. Feels like yesterday that I was running around wearing Krrish masks to completely drooling over him in Dhoom 2.

Hrithik Roshan has done many amazing films in his career and created a cult fan following for his stunning looks, acting, and dancing skills. Consequently, he has done 22 films, so far. Some of his flicks became blockbuster and a few films failed to impress the audiences. Anyway, let’s focus on the brighter side of the Hrithik Roshan movies that are worth watching!

hrithik roshan movies

It is the first movie of Hrithik Roshan in his bollywood film career. The flick, directed by his father Rakesh Roshan, got overwhelming response from the viewers. Hrithik’s performance was commendable in the film. Without a doubt, he created history from his entrance as he bagged the Filmfare award as a debut actor as well as best actor for this movie. In this film, Hrithik featured in a dual role and played both the characters amazingly well on screen.

2. Koi..Mil Gaya (2003)

Director: Rakesh Roshan

Stars: Hrithik Roshan, Rekha, Preity Zinta, Rakesh Roshan

Undoubtedly, itis regarded as one of the best movies of Hrithik Roshan. Growing up, I’m sure everyone must have watched it at some point of life. His impeccable acting caliber will leave you awe-struck. The plot of the film is kind of adapted from E.T which is a child, who is mentally challenged, gets to meet an alien. The film swept away all the awards that year, as Hrithik again bagged the Filmfare award for best actor and Rakesh Roshan won the best director award for this film.

Thus began the Krrish series.

3. Dhoom 2 (2006)

152 min | Action, Thriller

Mr.A is a fearless thief who steals valuable artifacts. He teams up with the girl he is attracted to but who cannot be trusted. Close on their heels are three police officers trying to apprehend them.

Director: Sanjay Gadhvi

Stars: Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Uday Chopra

When you think of Bollywood films you may think cheesy/over-the-top musical numbers that you can’t help but enjoy. We’ll, Dhoom 2 does exactly that but with a little added extra! It’s cool, it’s exciting, it’s hard not to want to learn all the dances. Including, of course, moments of questionable CGI and action scenes but it wouldn’t be the same if it weren’t.

There are too many questionable holes in the timeline and plot to begin to discuss but if you let yourself get swept into the stunning soundtrack and athletically impressive dance sequences you may not even notice. The story alternates seamlessly between song/dance numbers and scenes of romance, action, and broad comedy which is complimentary of and emphasizes, the “emotional” journey we feel for the characters.

Indeed, it is a fun movie and should be appreciated for all its child-impressive, I-wish-I-was-a-thief heists and getaways, as well as the “, Catch Me If You Can” rip-off criminal, police relationship.

Even the plot was about the hopelessness of a man, there was a positivity of a different level throughout the movie. The man who was actually hopeless for himself and fought for his willful death simply smiled and motivated others around him, taught his skills to the person, even in the desire of death, he was laughing and cheerful.

It is heartwarming experience that must be undergone by each and every mother and son. It has a simple premise-a son reuniting his long-gone brother with his family. But, the way KJO brings out his own flair and transforms this into a fully blown-out Bollywood drama is really worth watching! This epic family saga does not feel boring even at a whopping three and a half long hours. KJO depicts such an engaging and gripping drama.

Coming to the performances, while Shah Rukh and Amitabhji outperform each other, it is Hrithik who wins brownie points for his portrayal of a loving son. He brings out an endearing charm. Similarly, Kajol, Kareena, and Jayaji strike the right chords and Kareena emerges to be the winner! Her character will stay with you even after you complete the whole film. Jayaji and Kajol come in a close second and both of them are perfectly cast.

Coming to technicalities, the film never disappoints and Karan never compromises. The screenplay is an absolute winner. Undoubtedly, the script and direction are just extraordinary. The music is soul-soothing and Sooraj Hua Maddham tops the album. Whether it is portraying our protagonists in foreign or in our very own Raichand house, the cinematography melts your hearts!
