Armed Forces Flag Day: People stand in solidarity with Indian armed forces

Every year, India commemorates Armed Forces Flag Day on December 7 to honour the fallen and personnel in military who defended the country from all threats. This day is devoted to the warriors who battled along the country’s borders for the safety of the country’s honour, and to their duty to our nation. Many heroic souls have died in the service of their country. The day has been observed since 1949 to increase awareness among Indian residents of individuals who labour in the three public services throughout the country.

On the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day, the families of martyred state servicemen were honoured.

The event, which was held at the Directorate of Sainik Welfare’s ten regional offices across Telangana, was opened by Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and included ex-servicemen, their families, and National Cadet Corps cadets.

“‘Thank you’ is a little word to express gratitude for our armed forces’ services. They are always there for us, at all times and in all circumstances, whether it is a war, a pandemic, or a natural disaster. Because of their sacrifices, we can sleep peacefully in our homes “Anirudh Singh, a law student at Jamia Millia Islamia University, tweeted about it.

The government has been accepting donations at the Kendriya Sainik Board Secretariat, Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, to commemorate the anniversary.

“I applaud the indomitable courage and enormous affection our armed services have for India,” Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted.

Home Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali also donated to the fund and appealed to citizens to look after ex-servicemen and their families. Director of Sainik Welfare Col. Ramesh was present.
