Best Amazon Prime Hindi Series:

1. Mirzapur

Widely referred to as Amazon Prime’s strong reply to Netflix’s Sacred Games, Mirzapur has all the essential elements of an Indian crime thriller.

In this current age of commercialization, capitalism & materialism unemployment is on it’s rise in-turn forcing/pushing youth to join the world of crime! Totally unrealistic in logic and practicality but had a sort of realistic appeal and approach to it.

amazon prime hindi series

Mirzapur is an intended dark and intense themed drama, not at all entertainment or fun watching but entertaining as it has a potential attraction towards it. The storyline is a fine depiction of scenes. Direction potrays the characters very well but surely this doesn’t hide certain loopholes observed. Language and acting are good rather perfect in some cases else are otherwise, Mirzapur lacks sense and is in a way promoting sex, violence, and crime. This is not at all a true description of the real district Mirzapur, it is entirely fiction.

2. Breathe

This is one of the greatest shows made in India to date. It’s mostly underrated because of its release prior to the sacred games and Mirzapur. Additionally, it is not promoted well by Amazon Prime Video. No matter what it is a great show which challenges the basic morals and ethics in today’s world.

It is based on the cardinal rule that how far will you go to protect your family and specifically there is only one rule when it comes to family that there is no freaking bloody rule in the first place. With this, I have practically told the whole story in nutshell and yet it is worth a watch to crack it.

Starring R Madhavan and Amit Sadh in key roles. Mayank Sharma’s directorial purports to be a thriller but often stretches the definitions of both plausibility and gratuitousness.

3. Inside Edge

This Amazon Prime series puts recent Hindi movies to shame. It is original, clever, harsh, and has top-notch acting. As a cunning and shrewd bookie, Vivek tried too hard- so much so that his scenes were cringeworthy at times. But the direction,  dialogues, and everything else is so beautifully overpowering that even that can be ignored.

A must watch for all cricket fans especially the IPL fans. From spot-fixing to cricketers hooking up with cheerleaders just before their chance to bat, every dirty secret behind the glamorous world of cricket is very well portrayed. Vivek Oberoi’s role as the villain is the highlight of this show.

Just goes to show the immaculate research that has been done on the topic of match-fixing in order to give an insight to the audience of how deep-rooted it is in the sporting fraternity. Angad Bedi, Tanuj Virwani, and Richa Chadha were surely the standout performers. Not to forget Siddhant Chaturvedi who nailed it as a rookie fast bowler by battling against all the odds.

4. The Family Man

The 10 episode series is raw, rustic, and engaging.

The Family man dwells in the world of Srikant Tiwari played by (Manoj Bajpayee) an intelligence officer, a father, a husband who juggles between his father’s duties and serving the nation.

Talking about the acting proficiency of the cast, needless to say, Manoj Bajpayee is beyond words, he does justice to the role of a husband, father, employee, and a friend. His character Srikant is definitely relatable. Indeed a perfect choice for the role. He carries the show The Family Man on his shoulder.

On the other hand, Sharib Hashmi as a friend complements Manoj well. Srikant’s unhappy wife Priyamani (Suchi) is yet another similar character that we see in every household, from a working mother to a wife who manages the expenses in limited money, she is apt for the role and connects well with the audience.

To be honest the show doesn’t disappoint even a bit with twists and turns and the complexities of each character keep us hooked throughout. The hard-hitting action sequences show blood, bomb, and blasts that are heart-wrenching. The scenes are so impactful that you will be astonished. With every episode, the viewers are hooked on to the screens, all thanks to the intriguing background score by Ketan Sodha.

The amalgamation of the fine cast with an edge of the seat performance the show is indeed a must-watch of Amazon Prime Hindi series!

5. Four More Shots Please!

Four More Shots Please is an insight into the lives of four highly privileged South Bombay girls. They explore, make mistakes and understand at every step forward. Anxious and ambitious Damini Rizvi Roy, Cool and courageous Umang Singh, Mature and Mulish Anjana Menon, and Loving and lost Siddhi Patel form a tight notched friendship at a bar. They are on a journey to celebrate their femalehood.  But, also experiment in various aspects of life like love, career, motherhood and so on. Four women with different childhood, upbringing and personalities support each other whats so ever.

Four More Shots Please is a happy show, which will surely invoke some emotions in you and it may also make you miss your girlfriends. The show tries it’s best to normalize LGBTQ and sex. I will suggest you watch it with an open mind and heart without any expectations. The show isn’t perfect. But, atleast it tries to make an attempt to change the old-school patriarchal concept.

6. Made in Heaven

Made In heaven was a conglomerate of all the heavy topics we witness in our societal circle. But choose to acclaim openly. With a tint of the apt amount of drama, emotions, and lust, the series was an eye-catching narrative that one can never afford to be affected.

With an exquisite display of all the characters, be it the flamboyant yet unsatisfied characters. For instance from the Khanna family or the upper-middle class facing the pinch of society. Also monetary ordeals or the lower class of family, struggling for money and class. Yet contended with the diverse shortcomings of their life and lifestyle.

All the characters possess a unique portrayal of their flashy lifestyles and intriguing dissatisfaction. Basking the hollowness we all carry with ourselves but very hesitant to admit it up-front. The makers and producers of the show have chose it all. The dark secrets of infidelity, deep-rooted male chauvinism, the scary family pressure or the sexual orientation. One by one, every flawed reality in our lives has been kicked with a bang, forcing the audience to do nothing but admit it.

All in whole, the series gripped our attention and was indeed a must watch entertainer.

7. Laakhon Mein Ek

Created by famous stand-up comedian Biswa Kalyan Rath tells the story of a boy’s struggle to cope up in a coaching institution of IIT.

The story is simple yet effective. It talks about when below-average student is forced by his parents to undergo the burden of expectations of his parents. This series has just 6 episodes and in every episode. It shows how the lead struggles to gel up with his new situation. The environment of the plot is well crafted and every character looks quite real. The friendship portrayed surely evokes a sense of nostalgia for many and that’s the beauty of the series.

The lead Ritwik Sahore shines throughout the runtime. Alam Khan with other boy as his newfound friend makes you love them instantly. Biswa’s acting chops is weak though he as writer surely has done a commendable job. Shivkumar as strict principal of the institute is yet again perfectly cast as all other supporting cast.

It is one of the best Amazon Prime Hindi Series available out there!
